Applications for our electrolyser technology competition now open

We are seeking early-stage electrolyser technologies which have the potential to significantly improve the efficiency of hydrogen production. 

Closing date: Sunday 21st April 2024
The Energy Hubs project, one of seven projects within the Net Zero Technology Transition Program, has highlighted that green hydrogen technology and infrastructure requires rapid development to achieve the UK’s decarbonisation goals. Improvements in electrolyser efficiency would have a significant impact on reducing system cost.

We are seeking early-stage electrolyser technologies which have the potential to significantly improve the efficiency of hydrogen production.

Successful applicants will receive a share of up to £500,000 funding (between £50,000 up to maximum of £315,000 each) to accelerate the development of their technology towards pilot or prototype level within the technology development period.

  • Novel / low TRL electrolyser designs
  • Improvements to established electrolyser types
