Programme Deep Dive

The TechX Clean Energy Accelerator is run over 15 weeks and requires a full-time commitment from participating start-ups. It equips start-ups with the funding, tools, resources and training they need to evolve and grow, accelerating their path to commercialisation and beyond.

Through our global partners, TechX offers a wide range of expertise to help you develop your technology, complemented by tuition on product development, cost modelling, measuring carbon impact, building a sustainable product and more. You will also be matched with one of our own engineers to explore the potential for a field trial sponsored by the Net Zero Technology Centre.

Our expert partners and mentors provide tuition, advice and services to support start-ups. The carefully designed delivery sessions cover a wide range of skills and knowledge essential to founders, from legal issues to sustainability, from selling to potential customers to prototype development.

Each block of learning will typically include training sessions, interactive simulations, or 1-to-1 meetings. The outcome of each block will be deliverables that every start-up should have in their toolkit. These will then be presented to a board of professionals who will challenge and question to help maximise success.

With over 50 dedicated mentors, we match your start-up with the specialists who will benefit you the most.

We offer an enhanced investor readiness programme specifically designed for TechX start-ups.  You will build your investor pitch deck, refine your financials and metrics, and gain feedback from investors on how to pitch your start-up.

You will also be invited to present at our final showcase Demo Day, pitching your company and technology solutions to a room full of industry leaders and potential customers, including our programme sponsors ADNOC, bp, ConocoPhillips and Equinor Ventures.

From business storytelling, brand strategy and market insights, to protecting your IP and applying for patents, the programme offers a range of sessions which will help define and optimise your business model and shape your strategy for success. Mid-programme, you will meet individually with carefully selected potential customers who will help you test your hypotheses and validate your technology against their needs.

Having the right team in place is crucial to any start-up’s growth. Sessions on how to grow your team in a diverse way, understanding personalities and developing your soft skills as a leader will help you achieve that. To support businesses in facilitating an inclusive culture, TechX offers a dedicated session on the benefits diversity can bring to start-ups.

The journey doesn’t finish at the end of the programme. After graduating you will receive two years of growth support to ensure your company’s growth trajectory continues towards successful commercialisation and beyond, and access to fully funded co-working space.
