The recent announcement of the North East Scotland Hydrogen Ambition (NESH2A) will coordinate and strengthen action in the industry and ensure that the strong pipeline of planned hydrogen projects becomes a reality.

For decades, the North East has been an energy capital boasting an abundance of skills, resources, infrastructure, and an innovative mindset. It now leads the way in low carbon hydrogen generation and has already pioneered several high profile projects that could generate over 200MW of hydrogen.

NESH2A is committed to inject pace into the development and deployment of technology as we explore hydrogen as a viable resource in our net zero energy future. The resources and skills available within the North East of Scotland make it extremely well placed to maintain its position as a leading energy capital. The Net Zero Technology Centre is currently working on various projects as part of our Net Zero Technology Transition Programme (NZTTP) to provide further evidence to support hydrogen in its critical role in the renewable energy economy.
