Choosing your path

Today is results day…

Receiving exam results and deciding on your next steps can be overwhelming. One young lady on that journey is Eve Shanaghey, who is visiting the OGTC on work experience this week. She kindly shared her thoughts with us:

“After receiving my National 5 results today I can say with joy that I am more than happy with my results. To top that off, this week I am doing a work placement at the Oil & Gas Technology Centre, based within the events and marketing team, who have given me a little project to work on over the next few days. I think that this experience is worth much more than the results you get because this gives you a real insight into the working environment and a great opportunity to gain new skills. This week I aim to develop my confidence and people skills while gaining some first-hand experience of what the working world is like. In just two short days, I have realised that engineering isn’t just one straight road, there’s plenty paths along the way leading to different aspects of the industry…. so, who knows where the path might take me?”
