Celebrating International Women’s Day

The Oil & Gas Technology Centre marks International Women’s Day by celebrating the contribution made by women across the sector.

Only one in five entrepreneurs in Scotland is female and increasing representation would significantly benefit the economy and industry. At the Technology Centre, we offer significant opportunities for entrepreneurs and would encourage those with a technology idea to get in touch and see how they can work with us!

Colette Cohen, CEO of the Oil & Gas Technology Centre, said

“International Women’s Day is a perfect opportunity for us to focus on the positive role played by women in the oil and gas industry. It’s encouraging to see females in leadership roles across the industry but there’s still a lot more work to be done.

“I encourage women to be brave, to have belief in themselves, their ideas and their capabilities. At the Centre, our TechX programme helps budding entrepreneurs with a good technology idea. Connect with the Centre if you have a great idea and want to discuss it.

“We also want to make the next generation look at Science and Engineering in a different way. See the possibilities – careers in STEM are about problem solving and will give people huge opportunities with lots of variety. Our industry’s appeal is wide ranging and inclusive of people with differing backgrounds, united with the common goal of wanting to make a difference.”
