Industry supply chain champion Sian Lloyd Rees joins Net Zero Technology Centre Board

The Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC) has today (16 June) announced that Sian Lloyd Rees has joined its Board.

In a career spanning over 25 years Sian has extensive business experience as a senior leader in the energy and IT industry, having held several leadership roles in both blue chip and start-up companies.  Sian is UK Managing Director of Aker Offshore Wind and also supports the broader Aker Horizon companies in the UK, a global provider of sustainable solutions across the broad energy sector.

Sian is Vice Co-Chair on the Board of Offshore Energies UK (OEUK) and the industry Supply Chain Champion supporting delivery of the North Sea Transition Deal.  In addition, Sian sits on the Board of the Aberdeen Energy Transition Zone (ETZ) and is a member of the steerco for the Deepwind Cluster.

In her new position on the NZTC Board, Sian will work with CEO Colette Cohen OBE and Chair, Martin Gilbert, to set the overall strategic direction of the Net Zero Technology Centre to build long-term success as it continues to accelerate the energy transition by closing the gap in net zero technologies.

Commenting on her new position within the Centre, Sian said:

“I am thrilled to be joining the NZTC Board.  I am passionate about innovation and collaboration, and the pivotal role both play in delivering the UK’s energy transition.  The Centre has a great track record of delivering technology innovations that are shaping our future energy industry, and I am excited to have the opportunity to contribute towards defining its future strategic direction.”
