TechX gives extra week to apply for £50K startup funding

- Net Zero Technology Centre invites energy startups to apply for latest TechX Energy Transition Accelerator programme
- Selected startups will benefit from £50K funding, mentorship and training
- Applications extended by one week closing on 27 September
Innovative energy technology businesses across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and the wider North East now have an extra week to apply for the TechX Energy Transition Accelerator, with applications extended until Sunday 27 September 2026.
The programme is seeking startups developing pre-commercial technologies in clean power, clean fuels and clean production that can help accelerate the energy transition and grow from Scotland
Successful applicants will receive £50,000 in grant funding and take part in a 12-week accelerator designed to help founders commercialise, validate and scale their innovations through expert support, industry connections and deployment opportunities.
Edward Pollock, TechX Programme Manager, offered some practical tips for applicants: “I encourage startups to consider what visuals, diagrams, props or analogies they can use in their video applications to explain the technology clearly. The strongest applications feature footage of the full team in the video and have a clear case for how their startup will impact Scotland and benefit TechX.”
TechX was recognised by the Financial Times and Statista as one of Europe’s Leading Startup Hubs and has invested in 89 startups since 2018 which have raised over £230M in investment.
Previous participants, ACUA Ocean, said: “TechX provided a unique opportunity to network with both offshore renewables industry partners and other high‑potential startups. Those relationships continue to flourish three years later and have been a key part of our ongoing growth.”
Startups must have a new technology that is at technology readiness level (TRL) 3-6 and focuses on industrial energy applications. The extension provides a final opportunity for founders to secure a place in the programme with applications open until 23:59 on Sunday 27th September 2026 at www.netzerotc.com/techx
