Technology Centre welcomes 70th membership…and counting!

01 October 2017
The Oil & Gas Technology Centre is delighted to now have more than 70 members working together to deliver a technology transformation for the North Sea and anchor the supply chain in the North-East.

Our members help to shape the base portfolio of projects invested in by the Centre across five key themes – Asset Integrity, Decommissioning, Digital Transformation, Small Pools and Well Construction. The Centre also invests with many non-members on projects which fit the Technology Strategy which supports MER UK.

Members range from large upstream operators to integrated engineering companies to small technology developers. New members include major operator, Shell, global engineering group, Lloyds Register, major service provider, Oceaneering, and subsea technology company, EC-OG.

In June, the Centre announced that major operators – Total, Chevron and Nexen – became members of multiple solution centres, while information technology firms Resulting and Kippitech joined our Digital Solution Centre. Subsea integrity specialist, 1CSI, signed up to our Asset Integrity Solution Centre and subsea technology company, Exnics, joined our Small Pools Solution Centre.

Colette Cohen, Chief Executive of the Oil & Gas Technology Centre said:

“Our goal is to create a culture of innovation across the industry and the region, working with companies and universities to accelerate technology deployment. So, we’re delighted to have so many new members on board as their leadership and commitment is essential.”
