Fuel of the Future: An e-Methanol Study

The offshore energy industry can achieve significant progress to reach net zero through the adoption of alternative fuels for power generation. Current fuel production practices utilise non-renewable sources of carbon, as technology advances, renewable sources will become more readily available adding to the green credentials of alternative fuels for use in offshore power generation.

The Net Zero Technology Centre’s Fuel of the Future study identifies the key strengths associated with renewable methanol. With a number of alternative fuels available the study also explores the alternative fuel landscape and how the energy industry may benefit from its adoption.
