Episode 17: The future of the energy workforce in the net zero economy

Robert Gordon University’s ‘Making the Switch’ report explores different investment scenarios and potential employment brought about by the energy transition. The report indicated that a £17 billion investment in renewables activities could result in the creation of 9,000 additional jobs in the North East of Scotland by 2030. However, if we fail to act with urgency and secure the investment, we might see the energy workforce numbers decrease by up to 40%.
