Our TechX Clean Energy Accelerator is a focused 14-week programme designed for innovative startups with the potential to transform the future of affordable, sustainable energy. Engage with our extensive energy network, gain support from technology experts and mentors, and access funding to turn your concept into a real-world solution that drives progress toward net zero.
Participation
- 14 weeks of commitment from participating startups.
- Participants cannot be sole founders; we suggest the programme workload is shared amongst the team depending on expertise.
- In person attendance in the UK is expected for three weeks. An allocation of your TechX funding can be used to cover travel costs. Locations will be shared with successful start-ups.
- The programme schedule is made up of four segments; onboarding, technology, business and funding.
- Virtual sessions will be run to a UK time zone.

Receive tuition and support from expert partners and mentors
Our expert partners and mentors provide tuition, advice and services to support startups. The carefully designed delivery sessions cover a wide range of skills and knowledge essential to founders, from legal issues to sustainability, from selling to potential customers to prototype development.
Each block of learning will typically include training sessions, interactive simulations, or 1-to-1 meetings. The outcome of each block will be deliverables that every startup should have in their toolkit. These will then be presented to a board of professionals who will challenge and question to help maximise success.
With over 50 dedicated mentors, we match your startup with the specialists who will benefit you the most.
Accelerate your technology development
With support from our global partners, our technology segment will help you develop your technology, complemented by tuition on product development, cost modelling, measuring carbon impact, building a sustainable product and more. This segment will end with our TechX Supporter Showcase where you will meet with individuals and businesses that can support with the growth of your technology.
Shape your commercial strategy
From business storytelling, brand strategy and market insights to protecting your IP and applying for patents, the programme includes a business segment designed to define and optimise your business model and shape your strategy for success.
Midway through the programme, you’ll take part in our Industry Showcase. Here, you’ll meet individually with carefully selected potential customers who will help you test your assumptions and validate your technology against real-world needs.
Become investor ready
We offer an enhanced investor readiness segment specifically designed for TechX startups. You will build your investor pitch deck, refine your financials and metrics, and gain feedback from investors on how to pitch your startup. TechX will also arrange 1-to-1 meetings with selected investors and you will also be invited to pitch at our Investor Showcase event.
Continue to grow
To mark the end of the accelerator you will also be invited to present at our final showcase Demo Day, pitching your company and technology solutions to a room full of industry leaders and potential customers, including our programme partners. Participants will also benefit from our post-programme support offering.

Having the right team in place is crucial to any startup’s growth. Sessions on how to grow your team in a diverse way, understanding personalities and developing your soft skills as a leader will help you achieve that. To support businesses in facilitating an inclusive culture, TechX offers a dedicated session on the benefits diversity can bring to startups.
