NZTC, founded in 2016 as the UK’s national innovation hub for industrial net zero technologies, stands as the prototype and leading example for sector impact. Drawing on NZTC’s journey, impact and lessons learned, we help partners across industry, government and academia develop their own successful innovation hubs.
Building on this foundation, we have established three specialist national centres of excellence, each supporting a distinct area of the energy transition:
- National Decommissioning Centre – Focused on safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible asset decommissioning and late-life operations.
- National Subsea Centre – Advancing next-generation subsea engineering, technology trials and integration.
- National Geothermal Centre – Developing expertise and new solutions in geothermal energy systems for cleaner, sustainable power.
