Seven projects to transform the North Sea energy system
In 2021 a total of £16.5 million was awarded to the Net Zero Technology Centre to accelerate a range of energy transition projects that will help deliver Scotland’s net-zero economy.
Seven projects are currently underway through the centre’s Net Zero Technology Transition Programme (NZTTP) to transform the North Sea energy system, with a focus on emissions reduction.
Expected delivery
- 4% reduction in UK emissions (14 MTC02e)
- Cumulative economic output for £403bn
- Create 21,000 jobs by 2050
- Develop next generation education and skills
- Create high value design and manufacturing capability
- Drive competitive technologies for CCS, H2 and floating wind
- Delivering net zero for the North Sea
- Diversify supply chain and double exports
